Europcar have charged my credit card NZ$750 for replacing a windscreen. They allege a chip in the windscreen was found by the car grooming people.
At no time while I had the vehicle did a stone hit it and nor did I notice any chip damage when cleaning the car prior to return. I went out of my way to return the key to a manned kiosk to be asked if there was any damage. I said no and asked if they needed to view the car. Was told no it will be fine.
Had a plane to catch so that suited me.The car was new, only 7500 km, so it is unlikely there was any damage to the windscreen.
Two emails refuting the damage have not been replied to and I have not been sent an invoice or photographic proof of the damage. This is fraud and I urge anyone with similar experience to contact the ACCC and their bank stating it as such.
